Due to the waters around Islay, anyone wanting to hire equipment will need to supply evidence to prove they have the experience to paddle in the challenging waters around Islay. Please contact us for clarity.

All of the First Aid @ Work courses except the annual refresher are certified as are the AED and paediatric courses. The courses include training manual and certificate where stated.

The cost may vary depending on travel and venue costs, we are happy to deliver training on site which helps top keep the costs down.

There are minimum numbers for each course, in order they can run;

    • FAW 3 day (min 4)
    • FAW requalification (min 4)
    • EFAW 1 day (min 4)
    • FAW annual refresher (min 5)
    • AED & CPR (min 5)
    • PAED 2 day (min 4)
    • EPAED 1 day (min 4)

Terms and Conditions

Fitness

Water sports requires a level of fitness to participate, you must ensure you are physically fit for the selected discipline you have chosen. Being able to swim is not a prerequisite as everyone will be wearing a buoyancy aid, anyone under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a responsible adult.

Payment & Booking details

At the time of booking a 50% deposit is required for any booking along with a completed booking form for each person, once paid a confirmation email will be sent to confirm the booking, the remaining balance to be paid 14 days before booked date(s). A reminder will be sent out to the email address provided on the booking form prior to this if the balance has not been paid. A booking number will be issued for reference for balance payments. Anyone under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a responsible adult.

Equipment Hire:

Prior to collecting the equipment, a deposit will be required, this varies relating to equipment being hired (see equipment hire charges here) and will be returned on the safe return of the equipment. Failure to pay the deposit no equipment will be released and no refund will be issued.

Special offer surrounding Emergency & NHS staff

The offer of 1 half day free session is only available when a full group qualify for this offer, this is open to all current employed staff, service photo I.D. will be required to confirm they meet the offer. The offer is only valid once and subsequent bookings will be at the normal rate.

Cancellation on our part

We will notify you not less than 3 days of your booking if numbers have not reached a working minimum, we will discuss this with you to find another date that is suitable, the option of a 1:1 at a discounted rate or give you a full refund.

We may have to cancel a booking at short notice if weather conditions deteriorate and it is deemed unsafe, you will be offered a full refund or alternative date of your choosing.

If we do not receive your deposit despite a follow-up email, your booking will be opened-up to others to take that booking date, if we do not receive the full balance within the 14 days of your booked date you will lose your deposit and booking.

Cancellation on your part

⦁ More than 30 days of your booked date, a full refund.
⦁ Less than 30 days but more than 14 days loss of 25% of the booking per person.
⦁ Less than 14 days no refund.
⦁ It is recommended that you take out appropriate insurance cover.

Please note:

We recognise that unforeseen circumstances may result in cancellation, we advise you to consider having travel insurance to cover this eventuality and for peace of mind, depending on circumstances we may be able to offer an alternative date, but this is not guaranteed.

Cancellation during booking

If you must withdraw from or during a course for any reason including but not limiting to; fitness, minor injury or any other personal choice where we are not responsible, this will come under the cancellation policy set out in sections 4 and 5.

Participant insurance

Participants are responsible for taking out their own insurance cover before engaging in any sporting activity, they must ensure that it meets their requirements. It is strongly recommended that you take out appropriate insurance cover which includes accident and cancellation insurance at the time of the booking.

Personal responsibility

Despite taking all precautions there are inherent risks when participating in the outdoor environment which we are unable to control. By participating in any outdoor activity, you must accept a certain level of personal responsibility for your actions, and awareness of the environment and others around you.

The personal data that you provide to us will be encrypted and stored on a separate system which has no internet access, these are located on our premises with limited access.

Any personal data collected and stored by us will be retained as per our records and retention schedule and will only be used for the purpose for which it was collected.
